There’s a special kind of worship that doesn’t come from rehearsed lyrics or planned melodies. It rises from the depths of our hearts—raw, real, and Spirit-led. That’s what the Ascend project is all about.
Ascend was birthed from a simple but powerful longing: to create a sacred space where people can encounter the presence of God without filters. It’s not just music—it’s an invitation to meet with the Holy Spirit in an atmosphere of spontaneous worship.
The heart of the project is perfectly captured in Psalm 24:3–4 (NIV):
“Who may ascend the mountain of the Lord? Who may stand in His holy place? Only those whose hands and hearts are pure.”
This scripture isn’t just a title inspiration—it’s a call to go deeper. Ascend is about climbing that mountain of worship with pure hearts, seeking God’s presence in an honest and Spirit-filled way.
🎤 A Life Shaped by Music and Faith
Music has always been part of my life. From singing in the junior choir at Resurrection Methodist Church to leading praise and worship in various churches, music has been the thread connecting every chapter of my journey. But everything changed when I truly encountered Jesus.
Faith turned music from performance into purpose. Worship became more than songs—it became a way of life. As Psalm 96:1 reminds us,
“Sing to the Lord a new song; sing to the Lord, all the earth.”
God deserves fresh praise, and that’s exactly what Ascend aims to offer—worship that flows from an authentic heart.
🎶 Behind the Music: The Creative Process
Creating spontaneous worship music is unlike writing traditional songs. It begins in silence, in stillness—waiting for God to speak. Most of the songs from Ascend are received during personal moments of worship, where prayer and spiritual songs create the perfect space for revelation.
Sometimes, a single word or scripture unlocks an entire session. It’s not about composing—it’s about listening. Every time we record an Ascend session, it feels like climbing higher to hear God more clearly.
✨ What’s Next for Ascend?
There’s so much more to come! Over the next few months, we’ll be releasing live worship sessions that capture real moments of encounter. We’re also praying into collaborations with other anointed worship leaders who carry the same heart for spontaneous praise.
Psalm 84:7 says,
“They go from strength to strength, till each appears before God in Zion.”
That’s our journey—going from glory to glory with each release, creating music that brings Heaven to earth.
🌍 Looking Ahead: A Movement Begins
Ascend is more than a project—it’s the beginning of a movement. My hope is that it will inspire worshippers to rise above life’s distractions and enter the stillness of God’s presence. In the future, I dream of hosting worship gatherings and retreats where others can learn to flow in spontaneous worship.
As Colossians 3:2 encourages us,
“Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.”
That’s the vision: to lift our eyes, lift our hearts, and ASCEND into deeper worship.
